Editing main sections of your store theme

Cartzy gives you the flexibility to customize your theme and layout in two ways:

1. Setting up the overall layout of your store theme such as defining one color for all the buttons, and font style for all the content on your site. Learn more about configuring the global design features of your store theme. 

2. Advanced editing of each section such as header, footer, banner, and product collections. 

This article will elaborate on customizing different sections of your store theme. 

Navigation Path: Store Management > Theme > click Customize. 

On the page that appears next, you will see an editing panel on the left side of the page. On the right side is the real-time preview. Whatever changes you make in the left panel, you can preview edits in the preview section before saving and publishing your site. Learn more about it. 

Using the editing panel, the following sections can be configured explicitly to give a desirable look and feel to your Cartzy store: 

1. Banner

2. Search

3. Collections

4. Products 

5. Product Review

6. Footer Text Widget

7. Footer

❗Always save your edits. Without saving, no changes will take effect on the published site. 

 

 

Banner

You can edit the following options to customize the banner of your store home page. 

  • Banner Image
  • Banner Text
  • Banner Button
  • Color

 

 

Banner image

Click the ‘+’ sign to upload the banner image. 

  • Maximum file size allowed: 3 MB
  • Dimensions: 1920 x 500 pixels

 

 

Banner text

Here, you can edit the following and preview in real-time as well as demonstrated in the image shared below. 

  • Banner title
  • Banner subheading
  • Banner description

 

 

Banner Button

This section allows you to configure the buttons that will be available on the banner image of your store home page. 

  • You can add the button label text.
  • You can also define the button action by adding the URL of the webpage to which the user will be navigated upon clicking the button. 

Notes:

  • You can add a maximum of two buttons to your banner. 
  • If you don’t want a button, you can simply leave the button label text field blank. 

 

 

Color

You can change the color of the following for your home page banner: 

  • Banner text 
  • Banner buttons 
  • Button text 
  • Button text when hovered over

 

 

Collections

Here you can edit the collections section to make it available on the homepage of your store as you desire. The following configurations are at your disposal to easily and efficiently manage your collections on your Cartzy store home page. 

1. Add a collection

Add a collection

To add a collection, simply: 

1. Click on the Add Collection button given under the Collection section in the editing panel. 

2. The list of all the available collections will be displayed. You can scroll through it to select a product collection. Click the “+” sign to add the desired collection.

Note: If you don’t see any collections available in the list, it means that:

    • Either you have already added all the collections available
    • No collection exists in your store. In this case, you will need to create a new product collection.

3. As soon as you click the “+” icon to add a collection, the selected collection will be added to the Collections section on your home page. You can preview it in the preview panel given on the right side as demonstrated in the image below.

4. To go back to the added collections list, click on the link “View Selected Collections.”

 

 

Remove a collection

If you want to take off a product collection from the Collections section on the homepage of your Cartzy store, you can simply click the “x” (cross icon)  given next to the unwanted collection. 

The preview on the right side will be refreshed to indicate that the product collection has been removed. You need to click Save to keep the changes. 

 

 

Create a collection

If at any point while configuring the Collections section, you want to add a new collection to your store, simply follow the steps below. 

1. Click Collections > Add Collection.

2. Click on the Create Collection button. 

3. The Create Collection page will be opened in a new tab. Learn more about adding a new product collection to your Cartzy store. 

 

 

4. The newly created collection will start appearing in the Collection list that appears upon clicking the Add Collection button. You can add it to your home page collection section now. 

 

 

 

Products

Under this section, you can select the products that you want to display on the homepage of your store. Cartzy enables you to configure your Products section on the homepage using the following features: 

1. Add a product

2. Remove a product

3. Create a product

 

 

Add a product

To add a product 

1. Click on the Add Product button given under the Products section in the editing panel. 

2. The list of all the available products will be displayed. You can scroll through it to select a product. Click the “+” sign to add the desired product.

Note: If you don’t see any products available in the list, it means that:

    • Either you have already added all the products available 
    • No product exists in your store. In this case, you will need to create a new product.

3. As soon as you click the “+” icon to add a product, the selected product will be added to the Products section on your homepage. You can preview it in the preview panel given on the right side as demonstrated in the image below

4. To go back to the added products list, click on the link “View Selected Products.”

 

 

Remove a product

If you want to take off a product from the Products section on the homepage of your Cartzy store, you can simply click the “x” (cross icon) given next to the unwanted product.

Create a Product

If at any point while configuring the Products section, you want to add a new product to your store, simply follow the steps below. 

1. Click Products > Add Product.

2. Click on the Create Product button.

Footer text widget

To run a reliable business and establish credibility among your customers, Cartzy requires you to add the following information in the footer: 

1. Shipping method

2. Customer support 

3. Return policy

4. Payment method(s)

Using the Footer Text Widget option, you can insert the text in the format of a heading and a description.  

The four pairs of fields will be identified as:

  • First field: Heading.
  • Second field: Description that goes under the heading. 
❗The icons are added by default and cannot be updated. It implies that the required information is mandatory to fill in. Therefore, you cannot leave any field blank. 

 

 

Footer

This section enables you to insert the social links of your business. You can leave the field(s) blank if you don’t want to add a social profile. 

❗The social media icons will be added to the footer once you insert the links to your social profiles.

 

 

Hide / Show sections

Besides making design edits to the various sections of your store pages, you can also decide whether you want to display a certain section on your store homepage or not. 

You can hide and show the following sections on your homepage: 

  • Search bar
  • Collections
  • Products
  • Product Reviews

Hide/disable a section: To hide any of the above-listed features/sections from your store, simply click the eye icon available next to its name. An eye icon with a slash bar indicates that the section is currently hidden. 

Display/enable a section: If you click the same eye icon that was used to hide the section, the slash bar will disappear, and the section will become available on the page.
